Resources and resource cards
A Resource is a content item such as a blog post, e-book, video or webinar. Each resource has its own page and a card that Resource Grids display.
Resources are stored per language, for example de/resources/… and fr/resources/…. Automatic grids only show resources from the page’s language folder.
Resource
Section titled “Resource”Content and page settings
Section titled “Content and page settings”| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Title | required | Resource name. Also used as the card title when Card Title is empty. |
| Resource Type | required | Sets the label and icon on the card and the card layout. Grids can filter by it. See Resource Type. |
| Resource Category | empty | Used only for filtering in grids. It is not shown on the card. |
| Body | empty | Content of the resource’s own page. |
| Header / Footer | Header required | Select any story to show the header or footer. The website always uses the header and footer of the page’s language, whichever story you select. Leave Footer empty to hide the footer. |
| No Index | off | Asks search engines not to index the resource page. It also removes the resource from every automatic grid (Tags and Filter mode). It still appears where selected by hand in a Fixed grid. |
| Metatags | empty | Search engine title and description. |
| Promo / Hide Promo | empty / off | Override or hide the promo banner on this resource page. |
The resource’s Tags are in its Config tab. Grids match them against their own Tags, and filter buttons against their Filter Item tags.
Automatic grids sort by the resource’s latest publish date. Republishing a resource moves it to the front.
Card settings
Section titled “Card settings”These fields are in the Card group.
| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Card Asset | required | Card image. |
| Card Title | empty | Shorter title for the card. Falls back to Title. |
| Card Description | empty | Text on the card. Shortened after 4 lines on phones and 6 lines on large screens. Keep it short. |
| Card Link Label | required | Link text at the bottom of the card, for example Read now. |
| Card Link | empty | Only for external URLs. Leave empty to link to the resource’s own page. An internal story selected here is ignored, and the card still links to the resource’s own page. |
| You Tube Video Id | empty | Plays this YouTube video inside the card instead of showing Card Asset. |
| You Tube Params | empty | YouTube player options, such as start=10. |
| You Tube Play Label | empty | Hidden label for the play button, read by screen readers. |
| Visible In Region | empty | Currently has no effect on cards or on the resource page. |
What the card shows
Section titled “What the card shows”The card’s layout depends on the Card Variant of its Resource Type:
| Card Variant | Card shows |
|---|---|
| Default | Card Asset as a wide 16:9 image, then the type icon and label, title, description and link label. |
| Square Image | Card Asset centered on a green gradient, then the same text as Default. Suited to e-book covers. |
| Cover Image | Only Card Asset, as a clickable image. Title, description, type and link label are not shown, so the image must carry the text. |
Clicking a card
- Without a video, the whole card is clickable.
- With You Tube Video Id, only the link label is clickable, so visitors can use the video player.
Videos and cookies
A video only loads after the visitor accepts marketing cookies. Until then, the card shows Card Asset, so always add a suitable image.
Resource Type
Section titled “Resource Type”Types live in <language>/resources/types/, for example de/resources/types/video. Each language has its own copy.
| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Icon | required | Small icon shown before the label on the card. |
| Label | required | Type name shown on the card, for example Video. |
| Card Variant | Default | Card layout for every resource of this type. See What the card shows. |
Changing Card Variant changes every card of that type in that language.
Resource Category
Section titled “Resource Category”Categories live in <language>/resources/categories/.
| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Label | empty | Name for editors. It is not shown on the website. |
Categories are only used to limit which resources a grid loads. When choosing a type or category in a resource or grid, pick the one from the same language folder.
